What We Fix Most Here

Most of the houses across our service area went up between 1979 and 2006, with the typical build year sitting around 1994 - that's the stretch that defines what breaks. Doors from that era are mostly steel sectional panels on extension or torsion springs, and after twenty-plus years in this climate, the springs are usually the first thing to go. Summers here are hard on an opener motor and on the lubricant in the rollers and hinges; grease dries out, rollers seize, and the opener starts straining against a door that no longer moves freely.

Across the six named areas we cover, the stock runs mostly 1980s and 90s construction, which keeps the common failures fairly consistent from one neighborhood to the next: worn torsion springs, dried-out rollers, and openers pushed past what the heat lets them handle. Newer builds in a few pockets bring different issues - circuit boards and sensor alignment rather than worn mechanical parts.

We don't do much with doors that are structurally shot - if the panels are rusted through or the track is bent beyond pulling back true, replacement is the honest answer, not another patch repair.

How the Visit Works

  1. We dispatch out of North Las Vegas

So when you call, we're figuring out drive time to your address, not showing up from a storefront in your neighborhood. For the closer towns - Sunrise Manor at around 8 miles about 10 miles south - that's usually a short run. Winchester, Whitney, and Paradise sit a bit further out, and Spring Valley and Summerlin South are the longest drives on our list at 17 and 18 miles.

  2. On the call, we ask what the door is doing (won't open, makes noise, off the track, opener won't engage) and the rough age of the house if you know it

Since that tells us a lot about what's likely on the other side of the panel before the truck even leaves.

  3. We bring parts that cover the common failures for 1980s-2006 stock

Which is most of what we see, but a less common part - say a specific opener board - can mean a short order delay rather than a same-visit fix. We'd rather tell you that up front than pretend every job wraps in one trip.

The Towns We Get To

We travel to all of these from North Las Vegas; we don't keep a crew stationed in any of them. Ordered by distance out: Sunrise Manor (8 miles), Winchester (11 miles), Whitney (13 miles), Paradise (14 miles), Spring Valley (17 miles), and Summerlin South (18 miles).

Across this whole service area there are roughly 271,542 households and about 70,779 owner-occupied houses, with a median household income around $61,177 - a mix that includes plenty of original owners still living in the house they bought in the 80s or 90s, alongside newer households in more recently built sections. That split matters for repairs: an original owner on a 1994-built house is more likely dealing with a spring or roller worn out from decades of heat exposure, while a newer household might be chasing an opener sensor or a wiring issue instead.

If your town isn't listed here, it's outside where we currently drive - we'd rather say that than take the call and show up late.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in North Las Vegas. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

Why does my garage door spring keep breaking?

If your house was built between 1979 and 2006, which covers most of this area, the torsion spring is likely original or close to it. Severe summer heat accelerates metal fatigue in springs, so they wear out faster here than in milder climates. Once one breaks, the other side is usually close behind - we'll check both.

Do you work outside North Las Vegas?

Yes. We get out to Sunrise Manor, Winchester, Whitney, Paradise, Spring Valley, Summerlin South. Distance affects how fast we can get there - closer areas like Sunrise Manor usually mean a tighter same-day window than farther spots like Summerlin South.

Can you always fix an old opener instead of replacing it?

Not always. If your opener dates to the 80s or 90s, parts can be hard to source and sometimes cost close to what a new unit runs. We'll tell you honestly when replacement is the better move instead of billing you for a repair that won't hold.

How fast can you get a part for an older door?

Depends on the part. Common springs, cables, and rollers we carry on the truck. Hardware specific to a door built decades ago sometimes has to be ordered, and we'll tell you that at the time of the visit rather than promise a same-day fix we can't deliver.
